The LOV-21A-1APR is a special limited edition from G-SHOCK's "G Presents Lover's Collection," celebrating its 25th anniversary. This is a unique pair set that includes both a G-SHOCK and a Baby-G watch designed for couples.
The design is inspired by the mathematical formula for love (x²-|x|y+y²=25), which when plotted creates a heart-shaped graph symbolizing everlasting love. Both watches feature blackboard-style watchbands filled with math formulas, with a special romantic secret: when the two bands are aligned together, they complete a single heart design.
The G-SHOCK portion (based on the GA-100) features a Resin case and band, Magnetic Resistance, Shock Resistance, Mineral Glass, and 200-meter water resistance. It includes an LED light with auto light switch and selectable illumination duration, World time (29 time zones, 48 cities + UTC), and a high-precision 1/1000-second stopwatch with speed calculation. Other functions include a 24-hour countdown timer, 5 daily alarms (with 1 snooze), hourly time signal, and full auto-calendar (to 2099).
Timekeeping is both analog (2 hands: hour, minute, plus 1 speed dial) and digital. Accuracy is rated at ±15 seconds per month. The watch runs on a CR1220 battery with an approximate life of 2 years. The case size is 55 × 51.2 × 16.9 mm, and the total weight is 72 g.
The Baby-G portion (based on the BA-110) has similar features but with 100-meter water resistance, Neobrite hands, a 1/100-second stopwatch, and slightly different specifications. Its case size is 46.3 × 43.4 × 15.8 mm with a total weight of 45 g.
Special design elements include a star at the 25-minute mark signifying the 25th anniversary of this collection, and case backs engraved with the year 2021 plus angel and devil motifs (symbolizing how opposites attract). The set comes packaged in a special two-watch box in black.
